The Chosen TV Seriew

“The Chosen” shown Wednesdays at Christ the King
                   Second Series resumes April 27

The multi-season, TV series drama The Chosen, is about the life of Jesus Christ and the calling of His initial disciples. The first series was offered at Christ the King Lutheran Church  at 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoons during Lent.

The second series will begin 4 p.m., April. 27 and continue on subsequent Wednesdays. It will be presented on a large screen in the sanctuary.

Church members Gary Zierden and Marilou Holmes suggested the series be shown because they were so excited when they saw it on TV. “It gives you a personal connection with the disciples, Mary Magdalene, and Nicodemus, and their lives,” said Holmes, a council member. “You get to know and feel what their lives were like before Jesus called them, why they left them to follow Jesus and how their lives were changed after they did. You, also, will better understand how different events, like throwing out a net to catch fish, affected them and what it meant to them. You can feel what the disciples were going through as they walked with Jesus.”

“The Lenten season is an appropriate time to view this moving TV series,” said Gayle Seifert, another council member. “So when everyone who suggested it was so enthusiastic about it, we decided to offer it to the whole community.”
The  series are open to the entire community and are free.
Two episodes will be shown each week for four consecutive weeks. The approximate time for each showing is 1 ½ hours.

If you are unable to attend a session, you can see it at your own convenience by downloading the app (The Chosen) to watch on your smart phone, tablet, or stream to your television.

The Chosen is a production of Angel Studios, which is being funded by private donations and written/produced by Christians.
